VBS in the CNH District I 2026

Updated: 3 days ago

First, Concord

Rainforest Falls VBS was an amazing week exploring the nature of God! Kids learned He's our Creator (even meeting a butterfly with teeth and a quetzal), and explored His nature through Bible Adventures, Sticky Scriptures, Imagination and Exploration stations, songs, and games. From Psalm 42:5, they discovered God is our safe place, building egg-drop "shell-ters" inspired by David hiding in a cave. The week wrapped up with extra dance parties on the final day!

Our Savior, Aiea

It was a trip to Rainforest Falls in Hawaii too as Our Savior turned their sanctuary into a place where kids could worship and learn more about God! From fun decorations to games and building community, God is on the move at Aiea!

Holy Cross, Concord

Holy Cross, Concord, CA, partnered with Ygnacio Valley Christian School (on the Holy Cross campus) for a fun-filled Emerald Crossing VBS, journeying through Psalm 23 (June 29–July 2). They planned for 40 children and ended up with almost 50! Each morning began with a group prayer among the volunteers. It was a Christ-centered time of fun and activities, including Bible lessons, songs, crafts, and of course, snacks! Potato bowling and "herding" cotton ball sheep were highlights! Holy Cross and YVCS were blessed to be a blessing to children in their community!

First, Yuba City

The True North VBS theme brought times of learning more about God and bringing kids together for worship and fun!

Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Santa Maria

Lutheran Church of Our Savior hosted their Rainforest Falls VBS in July. With a total of 57 kid registrations, and 33 volunteers, they had about 90 people involved from start to finish! This has more than doubled previous years. With over 80 people attending their family night, they got to proclaim God's goodness to multiple families!

St. Matthew's, Rocklin

Rainforest Falls 2026 was an unforgettable week of joy, worship, and wild adventure here at St. Matthew. They welcomed over 125 children into a week filled with worship, Bible teaching, crafts, bouncy houses galore, and rainforest‑themed adventures. With the help of 76 dedicated volunteers, the church transformed into a wild jungle where every child was reminded that God is our creator, knows everything, is our safe place, is love and is forever.

Every volunteer, every family, and every kid made this week unforgettable as God moved and joy overflowed! Save the date our next year's VBS will be June 14-18th 2027.

St. John's, Bakersfield

Emerald Crossing 2026 had music, crafts, games, laughter and so much more as St. John's welcome kids and volunteers to their campus this summer to learn more about God and grow in community.

St. Paul's, Tracy

This July, St. Paul's campus was filled with energy as they welcomed 150 students and 70 dedicated volunteers for a week of Vacation Bible School! They are especially grateful for the incredible group of volunteers who made the week possible—many of whom were their own high school students! Teenagers served in every area of VBS, from setting up and decorating to emceeing the program and teaching at our Bible station. Their enthusiasm, leadership, and servant hearts were a true blessing and a wonderful example of faith in action. We thank God for everyone who helped make this year's VBS such a joyful success!
