Best Practices Shared - Prayer Cards

We would like to highlight some best practices shared with us by ministries in the CNH District. 

 

Today’s best practice of using Prayer Cards comes from Lori Waetzig, principal at Bella Vista Academy (St. Paul Lutheran Church) in Tracy, California.

 

Bella Vista has individual prayer cards for each student and staff. At the beginning of each school year, these prayer cards are made with a name on each one. At staff devotions each morning, the staff leading devotions will introduce two students/staff prayer cards and then pray specifically for these two people at devotions. Then the prayer card with the person's name is given to that student or adult that day to let them know the teachers prayed for them.

 

Many parents are touched that the teachers prayed for their child and family when they receive these prayer cards. It is such a simple practice, but it makes a significant impact on the families that the school serves. Click here for a template of their prayer card. Save The Date - Mt. Cross Annual Memorial Day Work Weekend

Mt. Cross Ministries in Ben Lomond, CA is holding their annual Memorial Day Weekend Service Retreat May 24-26! All are invited to this FREE volunteer retreat at Mt. Cross for a weekend of service, fellowship, worship, and fun! Enjoy a campfire, s'mores, worship, and delicious food while giving back to the place we all love. All meals and lodging are provided.

Save The Date - All Workers Conference

Please put November 24-26 on your Calendars for the CNH District All Workers Conference in Monterey, California. Our Theme is "Connected in Christ - So the Next Generation Will Know", based on Psalm 78:4-6.

 

This conference is our effort as a District to bring all of our church workers together for a joint conference. This conference will combine the annual Pastors Conference, the annual Lutheran Educators Conference, and include DCEs and other church workers for the first time in many years. More information will come out about this event in the coming months!
