Holy Cross, Los Gatos (CA) hosts 2nd Pet Blessing Service

On Sunday, Holy Cross held its second biennial Pet Blessing!

A Pet Blessing is when a pet is recognized and blessed through prayer and a small ceremony. We bless pets for protection, peace, health, and more. Though everything still belongs to the Lord, God entrusts us to care for the Pets on Earth. Pets support us as we go through life, and it is our duty to care for them back. In a Pet Blessing, we ask for the lord's help in that duty, both for the pets and for ourselves.

We held a special outdoor service in the morning, followed by the Blessing of the Animals. After that, we had a 'Pawrade'! Everyone gathered around as the pets' names were announced and the owners got to showcase their animals in our Pet Parade! It was a great event for all of our community to enjoy-- members and guests alike!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday. Your support for our event means a lot! And thank you to everyone who made the Pet Blessing happen! From planning the whole event, to setting up audio equipment, to moving chairs around, to making certificates, there was a lot of effort that went into the event, and that wouldn't have happened without our incredible Holy Cross Volunteers and Staff!
