Grace, Modesto Child Care Center expands Preschool

The preschool serving 2–5-year-olds has been in operation for over 40 years, and we

have also maintained a Summer Extended Care Program for school age children. For

over seven years, we have had a vision to serve infants within the community.

In October 2023 the Child Care Action Team started to research the need within the

Modesto area and found that all other Faith based preschools that served infants had

year long waitlists. With congregational support the team started planning, fundraising

and converting two existing classrooms to meet infant care regulations required by

licensing.

Through monetary donations, Burgers for Babies Night, Congregational Baby Shower,

our goals were reached. A Blessing was completed by Pastor Grant Knepper on

Sunday, June 29th , Licensing final approval was completed July 18th and babies started

on July 21st!

We are so grateful for all prayers, volunteer time, room prep, monetary donations,

Grace Lutheran Church and Child Care Center of Modesto have been given the

opportunity for additional stewardship in serving families of infants. We pray the childcare

programs continue to be blessed and a place where all may grow in the knowledge and

wisdom of God’s Love!
