This year’s Disability Awareness at Faith, Fair Oaks began on Wednesday, September 24 with
an LWML-sponsored potluck and presentation by PRIDE Industries. Through personalized
employment training, placement, and mentorship, PRIDE helps people with disabilities achieve
greater independence and success in the workforce.
Sunday, September 28 was announced as Disability Awareness Sunday, and the Bulletin
contained an article about the mission, history, and accomplishments of our CNH Disability
Ministry Committee (DMC). Pastor Jared Eggebraaten’s sermon highlighted the parable of the
rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31.
In Bible class following worship, a PowerPoint presentation on our CNH DMC was shared, as well as a resource table of materials and information. Pastor’s Bible study was about King David’s compassion for and kindness toward Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth, who was crippled in his feet. (2 Samuel 4:4 and 9:1-10)
