Caring Covers Quilters of Our Savior, Livermore help share God's Love

On Sunday, September 20, Pastor Joe Robb blessed the 120 quilts and 200 care kits to be sent to Lutheran World Relief, put together by the Caring Covers Quilters of Our Savior Lutheran Ministries, Livermore, CA. This was the culmination of a year’s long work by the group to provide a sign of God’s love to people around the world. To provide an example of where the quilts and kits are given, a video was shown of men from a veterans program in North Carolina receiving them after the 2025 flood which destroyed their facility. The men had lost their possessions and were thankful to receive this help.

Another highlight of this year’s work of the Caring Covers Quilters was the June 13 Quilt Day which was partially financed by a Thrivent Action Plan. This day of sewing, fellowship, and food saw eight new people introduced to quilting (four of whom were children). 22 quilts were tied, six were pieced, and several people took kits to make quilts at home. DCE Sara Agee gave a devotion on quilts during lunch.

In addition to the 120 quilts and 200 care kits to LWR, the Caring Covers Quilters will also donate 80 quilts to various community groups this year. All this is possible with the support of members of OSLM. To God be the Glory!
