The Mission Table Podcast was launched this year and gave listeners the chance to learn from leaders throughout the CNH District about how they are reaching their communities. This year’s guests included Pastors Steve Roma and Muluneh Taye and the formation of Redeeming Grace, Santa Clara; Pastor Andy Jones of First, Concord and a fruitful conversation about rethinking ministry success; And the stories of Solomon reaching Telugu-speaking and Indian-Hindu neighbors in the Tracy/Mountain House area and Pastor Uma at Messiah, Ewa Beach.
Across California and Hawai‘i, diverse ministries are sharing the love of Christ in ways that meet real needs and build authentic community. In Sacramento, mobile showers, clean clothing, haircuts, and a growing Bike Ministry are restoring dignity and providing access to church, jobs, and essential resources. In the Bay Area and Central Coast, immigrant, multicultural, and Mandarin-speaking congregations are forming worshiping families that bridge languages, generations, and cultures while raising up new missionary leaders through LINC. Meanwhile, unique outreach efforts, like the only Chinese Lutheran ministry in Santa Cruz, are introducing people to the Gospel and nurturing new believers. Even on Kaua‘i, a dedicated bi-vocational pastor is strengthening discipleship island-wide, reminding us that these life-changing ministries are possible because of your faithful support.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tracy, California, continued to find joyful and creative ways to connect with, serve, and bless the community. One of those events is the “Everything Free Sale,” an outreach event where every item is truly free.
Redeemer, Chico hosts a campus ministry and they recently had the chance to confirm one of those students during his senior year. We celebrate with Redeemer for reaching out to college students and helping them find a church home!
