Pastor Kanagasabai UmaShankar, (Uma) installed as pastor at Messiah, Ewa Beach

Kanagasabai UmaShankar (Uma) was installed on August 10 as pastor at Messiah, Ewa Beach, on Oahu.  President Lange was the celebrant for the installation, Rev. Paul Linnemann (transitional interim in Hilo) delivered the homily, and the pastors from the Hawaii circuit assisted. Also present was a large contingent of the Tongan congregation who utilizes the facility. We thank God for this ministry!

Special parts of the service were musical offerings from both the Tongan choir and the music team from Messiah. A sumptuous feast was served with a variety of Polynesian cuisine.

We welcome Uma a 2025 graduate of Concordia Seminary St. Louis (CMC Irvine), and his wife Toni. Both are also CU Portland graduates.  Uma, an adult convert, has served 20 plus years as a commissioned minister, DCE and secondary teacher. He and Toni have three young adult sons.
