Our Savior, Aiea in Hawaii has utilized digital tools to help expand and deepen their reach. Through intentional planning with video and social media, Our Savior has seen growth in their reach and people hearing the Gospel.
Three Channels, One Mission
Rather than putting everything into a single feed, Our Savior, Aiea made a deliberate choice to organize their YouTube presence into three distinct channels. The Foundations channel serves as a home for sermons and Bible studies – faith-building content for those wanting to go deeper. The Kids channel gives families and children their own space, with content crafted just for them. And the Beyond Sundays channel catches everything else, functioning as a digital extension of church life throughout the week. All channels are linked on the main YouTube page.
One of the more creative touches? Monthly playlists of music videos curated to accompany the sermon series or liturgical season. It's the kind of detail that signals intentionality, that someone is thinking carefully about how worship and media can work together.
Short, Sharp, and Shareable
When time allows, Our Savior, Aiea also produces sermon shorts, which are brief clips clipped from longer messages that are then cross-posted on both YouTube and Instagram. The YouTube page has grown from 12 to 160 with sermon shorts driving much of the coverage.
It's a strategy that mirrors what the broader content world has learned: people who would never sit down for a full sermon might stop and watch something 60 seconds long. And sometimes, that's enough to open a door.
Instagram and Facebook posts are scheduled regularly to keep momentum going. It's not always easy to maintain the biggest obstacles are time and people. AI tools help expedite certain tasks, but building a team and creating consistent content is what helps build traction with new viewers.
