Hope. Crisis. Opportunity.
These three words served as overarching theme for the 28th Annual Best Practices in
Transitional Interim Ministry (BP-TIM 2026). For increased access to the event, there
was a venue change this year, which landed us at our own District Office in Livermore.
Those registered represented seven different Districts from all across our church body.
Fourteen sessions were packed into our time from noon to noon on January 19-21. We
enjoyed a wide variety of presenters and topics. These, along with our devotional times
and an evening service of Preaching and Lord’s Supper, served the Lord’s HOPE into
surrounding times of CRISIS, bringing to our remembrance that in our Lord Jesus Christ,
adventurous OPPORTUNITY abounds.
One favorite feature for many is what we call a Critical Incident Report (CIR). The CIR
serves three main purposes:
To recognize the numerous occasions when the leader decides among alternative behaviors
To discover one’s own leadership functioning and style and how it contributes to the emotional system and climate
To collaborate in professional leadership development such that we foster healthy systems together.
Our path together can be traveled with renewed energy and joy!
