The CNH District will be hosting an opportunity for Administrators, Directors, Pastors, and HR Directors or Business Administrators who have schools and early childhood centers to meet together. The meeting will take place on Friday, September 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the CNH District Office, 2772 Constitution Drive, Livermore, CA, with the topic being "School & Worker Safety & More".
Evan Anwyl, principal at St. John's in Bakersfield, will be presenting on how to build a proper Worker Violence Prevention Plan (based on new regulations in California). We also plan to have attorney, Adam Trieger, share some important legal updates and answer your questions. Please join us for this great opportunity to come together in person to share and learn with one another!
This event will focus on the newly enacted California Senate Bill 553 (SB 553) and HR update.
Effective July 1, 2024, this legislation mandates that most employers (including churches) establish, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP). Codified under California Labor Code §6401.9, SB 553 details numerous regulatory requirements essential for compliance and to avoid potential enforcement actions by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
Why You Should Attend:
· Compliance is mandatory: California churches are not exempt from this regulation.
· Expert Guidance: Evan Anwyl, superintendent of St. John’s Lutheran School, Bakersfield, CA, will offer insights and strategies to effectively tackle these challenges.
· Attorney Adam Treiger will join via Zoom to give an HR update.
· Networking Opportunity: Connect with peers and enhance your understanding of the new legal landscape.
There is a $15 fee to cover lunch on that day.
