Mission FAQs
What is the mission focus of the CNH District?
The mission focus of the CNH District is encapsulated in the mission vision put forward by President Robert Newton, his staff, and our Board of Directors:
"Built on the Cornerstone of Christ and the witness of faithful Christians, a new generation of Christ followers in the CNH District is planting the Gospel among those outside Christ’s Church."
Since this is what we envision our focus can be put in two areas. (How we get there).
I. Build Mission Awareness in our people, congregations, and leaders. (The mission of God is going on all around us. We desire to equip the eyes to see and our will to join Jesus in his work.)
II. Provide support, encouragement, infrastructure and tools for Mission Expansion first in our District and Beyond. To this end we:
--Assist in Mission Planning
--Provide Mission education for lay and professional workers
--Partner with resources, (prayer, people, financial)
--Connect opportunity with Energy and Support
--Evaluate and connect people and places
--Hand’s on Mission Events
--Advancement efforts and Funding for Mission
--Ongoing Mission Communication and Encouragement
How can I be an active part of missions?
Begin by utilizing the Mission Communications Card. If you have a specific energy or gift for missions, we invite you to contact us directly at mike@cnh-lcms.org or glenna@cnhcef.org.
The opportunities are there to connect specifically with a congregation with your energy, plan or go on a Hand’s on Mission event, become a CNH mission agency donor, congregational communicated and prayer coordinator.
What other ways can I get involved in missions?
Yes, we include those involved in missions outside the United States who are connected with the CNH District on our website under "international partners.” We invite you to take a look at our international partners and/or to contact us. We post opportunities for short term or long term overseas mission opportunities as they come available.
