Kingdom Talk
There is more to do, more things to distract us and less time to get everything done than ever before.
Whether that statement is true or not (recency bias has a a way of tweaking opinions), it is true that many people feel stretched and lack contentment.
The main culprit for this real life hamster wheel isn’t just the busy moments, which can sometimes be unavoidable. It is the spaces that we choose to fill in with tasks and non-life giving activities instead of listening for God and practicing rest.
James 4:8 reads, “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
What a gift that if we choose God in these moments, he will come closer to us! Through this, we will have personal fulfillment and be a walking example of the ways God grows us in His image and not continually searching for more.
