 | Rev. Felix Renteria Rev. Felix Renteria was born in Jalisco, Mexico. He came to the United States in 1976. In the early 1990's he became a missionary pastor among Mexican immigrants in Redwood City. In 1995 Pastor Renteria began a working relationship with Bethany Lutheran Church in Menlo Park. This association eventually led him to seek formal theological education leading to ordination in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. He is currently a student in the Hispanic Institute of Theology of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and the full-time pastor of "Aqua Viva" Hispanic ministries at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tracy.
Pastor Renteria is available for Bible studies and other speaking engagements in English and Spanish. Although he prefers to preach in Spanish, he will consider working together with English-speaking pastors and congregations in special bilingual worship opportunities. He enjoys sharing his personal witness, his journey towards the ministry, and his transition from the Pentecostal to the Lutheran church. He has experience in working with Mexican migrant workers in the Bay Area and Central Valley, primarily of Pentecostal background, and therefore can serve as a consultant for English-speaking congregations, who are considering involvement in similar Hispanic ministries contexts. In his presentation Pastor Renteria seeks to motivate people to engage in missions.
He is married to Gloria. They have two children. |
