Western Regional Disaster Response Event
Rev. Phil Zabell is trying to identify 4 people each in Hawaii, Upstate
California, Central California, and Nevada, who would be committed to training as follows:
The members of the CNHDRT agree to be trained by LCMS World Relief and Human Care in 4 basic modules:
· Developing Disaster Outreach Ministries
· Developing Disaster Response Capacities
· Developing Lutheran Early Response Teams
· Developing Disaster Funding Strategies
The conference will be based on a disaster response initiative developed over the past 18 months by the staff of LCMS World Relief and Human Care. This initiative is both comprehensive
in scope and collaborative in nature. The result of this work is a disaster response plan that can coordinate the capacity of districts, synods and the national judicatories in bringing immediate
relief and long-term recovery to both professional church workers and congregations in the aftermath of a disaster. This plan also enables local congregations to bring mercy effectively and efficiently to their communities when disaster strikes.
This is a collaborative effort offered by LCMS World Relief & Human Care in partnership with the Western Regional Disaster Response Team (WRDRT). The WRDRT is comprised of 3 West Coast districts?Northwest, C-N-H, and Pacific Southwest.
Interested persons should contact Rev. Phil Zabell BEFORE COMPLETING the registration form. Please contact him by email at: pzcard@hotmail.com
